Anna Wilding became known as an actress as a teenager in film, tv, and theater working in Los Angles, London New York Australia and NZ. Anna Wilding has won awards as an actress in theater , comes from a professional stage background as an actor and has tackled notable and diverse roles in film and television from a battered wife, to a 1940’s screen star, to a Kubrick inspired television reporter in the 1960’s. Ms. Wilding performed roles that include, amongst others, an award winning improvisational player in professional Theatersports at Court Theater in New Zealand, a guest star appearance with Second City in LA, a starring role as silent comedian in Fringe Festival Winner, Patience of Silence, and the role of Hermione in Shakespeare’s The Winters Tale. and Shakespeare off Broadway in New York. Ms Wilding’s role on NZ TV series Shortland St in 1993 broke ground as the first time the issue of battered women and domestic violence had been raised in. a drama series on TV in NZ. It pre dated Anna’s colleagues film – the kiwi classic award winning film Once were Warriors. Anna Wilding continues to perform standup occasionally and is attached to a few film projects.
Anna Wilding’s acting and film work has been lauded by professional critics, as, “Moving”, “Beautiful, “Captivating,” and, “Must see.” Cited as, “Multi-talented,” and “iconic” Anna Wilding has completed multiple responsibilities in the film and entertainment business as Actress, Producer, Director, Writer, and Presenter. Ms Wilding’s work can be seen or felt in work ranging from Oscar nominees and winners through to Cannes, White Sands-Palm Beach, Chicago Film Festival, Tribeca, Santa Barbara Film Festival, Sundance and elsewhere. Ms Wilding additional duties include through the years were camera operator, art director, set decorator. Through several years 2013 – 2018 Ms Wilding judged the national Australian Atom Awards . IN 2021 Ms Wilding was a nominating committee member for the SAG AFTRA Awards that saw more diversity than ever in the final nominee lists. Ms Wilding continues to be active in all apsects of creativity, industry, philanthropy and business.
Ms Wilding has been a strong industry advocate for women. She was on the very first board of Women in Film and TV in Australia. In Hollywood and America Ms Wilding stood up against the casting couch and publicly, and this has been on record for well over two decades. Ms Wilding was also part of the early movement about the lack of opportunities and shortage of female directors. In 2014, with clear evidence in hand, Ms. Wilding spoke out in the industry clearly and strongly about the movie fan site IMDB, and the fact it’s StarMeter system uses subjective and flawed algorithms and therefore presents flawed data to both public and industry professionals.
Ms. Wilding is also known for her philanthropic work. She founded the Wilding Foundation that ran from 2009 -2018 a charity that provides scholarships, and went on to raise thousands of dollars for deserving recipients following the devastating earthquakes that destroyed Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2011 .
Ms Wilding is a Member of SAG AFTRA and member of various industry Unions, Guilds and Affiliates in UK, Australia and elsewhere.

Anna Wilding as an actor grew up in the theatre. Ms Wilding trained as an actor at NZ Performing Art School in Auckland NZ, VCA Winter Program in Melbourne and National Shakespheare Conservatory in New York , an adjunct of Yale. Improvisation is Ms Wilding’s favorite however appearing professionally in theater off Broadway in New York, Los Angeles and New Zealand – Ms Wilding has taken on both dramatic and comedic roles. Shakespeare through to modern works such as Sally in When Harry Met Sally. Ms WiIding performed on stage weekly performing professional theater at the Court Theater in Christchurch with the likes of the late Kevin Smith.
